Behind the Scenes: ISPO 2024 - Athletes Eyewear goes international with Ireland, Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico

ISPO in Munich - the annual meeting place for the sports industry - has also shown this year how much potential and dynamism there is in this industry. As the founder of Athletes Eyewear, I would like to give you my personal review, which balances challenges and great successes.

Another milestone: Our new distributor for the DACH region

A particular highlight of ISPO for us was the announcement of our new distributor for the DACH region: Zanier GmbH, headed by Markus Zanier.

We are incredibly proud to be working with such a renowned and experienced team. Markus Zanier and his team not only bring in-depth expertise and a strong network in sports retail, but also the energy and vision to break new ground together with us.

With their support, we will continue to build on our success and convince even more customers of our passion for the perfect viewing experience. For us, this partnership is a real milestone and a clear sign that we are heading in the right direction.

 

 

An industry in transition - challenges in the DACH region

Despite this success, the situation in the DACH region remains challenging. Retailers' reluctance to embrace new brands is clearly noticeable. There is often a lack of courage to try out fresh ideas in order to bring the younger and young-at-heart generations back into the stores. Yet it is precisely the innovative concepts and products that could revitalize the sector.

International success: 4 new markets for Athletes Eyewear

We are all the happier about the openness and interest of international sports customers. We were able to win over four new countries at ISPO: Ireland, Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico!

This success shows that our approach - high quality products combined with fresh, authentic branding - not only works, but resonates globally. These new partnerships are a huge step for us and we look forward to establishing Athletes Eyewear in these markets.

Into the future with a breath of fresh air

With the tailwind from our international successes and the new partnership with Zanier GmbH, we are more optimistic than ever that Athletes Eyewear will continue to grow - in the DACH region and beyond.

My conclusion about ISPO 2024? It was a trade fair of contrasts: Disillusionment about the reticence in German-speaking countries, but also euphoria about the international opportunities and our new partnerships.

The sports industry has enormous potential if it is willing to open up and move into the future with new approaches. We are proud to be part of this change and look forward to sharing our vision with all of you.
